Working as an aerobics instructor is fun and rewarding and this course gives you essential teaching skills to be a dynamic, fun and up-to-date motivating studio instructor. The course will enable you to teach aerobics and body conditioning style classes and you will be able to work as a freelance instructor in a health club, sports centre or to set up your own private classes. A motivating personality and enthusiastic approach are a must if you are to become a successful Exercise to Music teacher. You can study this course in a variety of ways depending on your preferred learning style. We offer the full course with a Tutor or our home study option. The home study pack enables you to study the exercise anatomy and physiology at home prior to attending our 5 day practical module.
Course Content - Exercise to Music AwardOption 1 - 12 day course plus 1 day assessmentOption 2 - Home Study and 5 day module plus 1 day assessmentThis course is an excellent foundation to start your career as a studio teacher and gives you the skills and knowledge to teach a diverse range of exercise to music sessions. The course covers:
• Components of physical fitness • Anatomy and physiology related to fitness • Principles of safe and effective exercise • Practical Teaching Skills • Motivational Techniques • Choreography • Class Design and Structure • Iintroduction to First Aid • Health and Safety • Customer Care The Assessment for this course consists of:• Practical assessment within a studio environment (plan, teach and evaluate) • Multiple choice theory paper (NVQ 2) • Completion of worksheets • Required to bring a participant for the practical element of the assessment Prerequisites for this course: You must be:• Over 16 • Currently attending aerobics classes for at least 6 months • Moderately fit • Committed to studying and attending all of the course • Committed to undertake home study and assignments Additional Information If you choose to undertake the Home Study option please allow yourself 8 weeks to complete prior to attending the course.
